Introductory Coherence Technique
The following exercise to sends love and compassion to people who are experiencing stress.
1. Breathe and calm yourself in whatever ways you choose. Ground yourself—imagine roots growing out the bottoms of your feet into the ground.
2. Choose something you appreciate-a person, pet, nature, anything you appreciate, could be a positive situation occurring in your life, and radiate the feeling of appreciation to them for about 2 minutes.
This helps open the heart more and increases our effectiveness when you start sending care to the people or situation in need.
3. Now evoke the genuine feelings of compassion and care for the planet.
4. Breathe the feelings of compassion and care going out from our heart.
You may imagine the compassion and care flowing out the way an ocean wave flows toward a beach, or as a beam of light radiating outward, or radiate it out with the rhythm of your breath. Find what suits you.
5. Radiate the genuine feelings of compassion and care to the people closest to you-family, friends, and co-workers-and remember to radiate compassion to yourself too.
6. See yourself, along with others participating in this process of healing and facilitating peace.
Observe any changes in yourself, such as attitudes and perceptions that have shifted, and also how those changes may be affecting your relationships and life experiences. And any love and care we give helps to effect a positive change, even when the change is unseen.
